Adam Szymczyk

Adam Szymczyk is a curator and writer based in Zurich, Switzerland. In 2017, he was artistic director of documenta 14. A co-founder in 1997 of the Foksal Gallery Foundation in Warsaw, Poland, Szymczyk served as director of Kunsthalle Basel, Switzerland, between 2003 and 2014. In 2008, with Elena Filipovic, he co-curated the 5th Berlin Biennial for Contemporary Art, titled ‘When Things Cast No Shadow’. In 2011, he was recipient of the Walter Hopps Award for Curatorial Achievement.
